Our Teaching Model

Children are the main focus of our teaching model at Kings Prep. Instruction is guided by the assessments completed during the admissions process. These results allow our teachers to create learning goals for each student, develop instruction according to a child's needs and assessment results and help our teachers develop group activities that benefit all of the children.

Our dual curriculum approach at Kings Prep that incorporates high standards-based goals along with the moral and ethical lessons found in our bible-based curriculum focuses on the characteristics and learning styles of the early learner. Instructional time and activities are based around the age and skill-appropriate levels of each individual student.

Classroom and center-based activities and projects integrate across the learning themes of the curriculum.

Kings Prep teachers present academic concepts by building on ideas that are familiar to students. Questioning, interpreting and analysis of familiar stories, parable and situations, found throughout biblical examples is introduced early.

Teachers encourage students to their extend their current knowledge to new situations and to discover and relate what they have learned as a result of that extension.

The Bible teaches us to train children during their early years in righteousness so as they grow they learn how to make good use, in each aspect of their lives of the biblical foundations they believe.

Repetition of concept presentations in various forms are used to solidify skills. This approach encourages Kings Prep students to simultaneously pace and extend their own learning. Teacher observation and assessment reviews of individual skill development help in determining instructional activities that will engage each student as they move upward in concept understanding.

The spiritual theme of our school is the Fruit of the Spirit found in Galatians 5:22-23. As Christians we know that it is important for our children to develop a biblical sense of righteousness, caring and love. Each day, Kings Prep children learn how they can allow God to show his love through them as they learn how to be a light to this world by demonstrating the fruit of the Spirit of Christ.

Major biblical themes from the curriculum present the bible using age-appropriate learning stories and activities. Biblical presentations are paced for the thinking skills of our Pre-K and K students. Bible-based activities show children how to integrate what they have learned into their everyday lives, into their families, and within each relationship that they develop.

Our Mission

We have a "biblical view" of children, we see each child as Jesus saw them, bright, creative, trusting and envisioned by God.  As we educate them about our earth, the world, and its societies as the Bible teaches us, we see them grow into productive disciples of Christ, becoming key contributors to our society as they manage and move in our world with the spiritual guidance of Jesus Christ.
